Project Review: Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer

A quick print Illustration I did of a 3D stretched arm for a Comp Idea.

A Look I developed for the AV Cards with an angled animated blur.

The Disc was a 2D fake and for AV I replicated what another agency did in 3D above for the motion Graphics work.

An early concept using a Single-Point Bevel for the tube text look.

A close to final version with the stainless spun disc behind it.

A Thicker design look backed with blue glass.

This version has no glass backplate and has a curved face modeled into it.

A flat beveled plate look with a metal gradient applied.

Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Client: Twentieth Century FOX Film Corp.
Art Director: Myself.
Project Date:Spring 2006

While running a 3D Department at The Cimarron Group for 6 years I often would do both AV and Print work for the same movie, and Fantastic Four 2 Rise of the Silver Surfer was one of these projects.

You will see above mostly Logo treatments and the "Four Button Logo" used in the film as well. I also did a few Images for posters with stretched arms for Ideas they had.

Blue was the accent color so we did lighting and material effects with glass and neon to add the color to the scene.

Though the print work was not a finish for us we did get to finish the AV trailers and my 3D cards were used for those.

Cheers, THOM
